Update

I have no idea if anyone will remember me after the loooong hiatus... but to at least make my fabulous in-laws happy, here is a post with a few pictures.

Things have been incredibly busy around here! Trying to balance teaching and parenting has been a complete challenge. I've been learning a lot from my class of (mostly) wonderful but (VERY) high energy fifth graders. Much of the transition to this new age has been a pleasant change (much less grading, planning for subjects I've never taught before like social studies and science, the opportunity to do some very fun projects, and students who approach (almost) every day with enthusiasm and curiosity. Some things have been, well, less pleasant... but the good definitely outweighs the bad. Seeing Miss E on campus each day is priceless.

Being away from Baby H has not been easy. I know it is only a few hours each morning, but part of me wishes we could have the one-on-one mornings I enjoyed with E when she was little. I cannot wait for the summer and three glorious months of just being Mommy.

Winter in Vermont was fantastic. There was quite a lot of this:

And plenty of cozy evenings by the fire, watching family movies or hockey. We also did a lot of ice skating. We discovered that the lake by our house has an ice rink maintained by our little village, and there were several very poorly played but fun family hockey games.

Mud season was blissfully short, and our unseasonably warm weather is making DH think grilling and gardening, making me think spring cleaning and organizing (with all my free time!), making E think it is time to start riding lessons, and making S ask me each day whether we can swim in the lake yet!

I have been keeping up with many of your blogs, and am looking forward to posting more regularly and having enough time to leave comments.

Wishing you all a blessed Holy Week and Happy Easter!
